Classroom Management
Below is how I manage my classroom. We will be discussing this in class. If we abide by all the rules, we will have a happy, fun, and successful learning experience in kindergarten!
Discipline
Every student has his or her name on a clip on "Ready to Lead" on the behavior chart. This behavior management system allows students to move up and down during the same day. I feel that this provides students a way to "make-up" for their mistakes and get back in the right track without having the whole day ruined. In your child's take home folder will be a monthly behavior calendar. I will mark the color each day that your child ended up on. Please initial each night by the color that your child was on at school.
The following is the behavior system:
Individual Rewards
Whole Class Rewards
As a whole class, we will have a "Brownie Points" system. The class can ear a "brownie" of we receive a compliment in the hallway, the lunchroom, at PE, art, library, or music. When the class gets to 10 "brownies," the Brownie Fairy will pay a visit to our classroom!! (If your child is not allowed to have brownies, please let me know ASAP so I can make arrangements for your child's reward on that day.)
